One box at a time. That is how you scan a career’s worth of journal articles and book sections. I was very lucky (and a bit proactive) to have received so many of the articles and book sections that Dr. Griffin used during his teaching and research career. He was, by far, the best, most thought-provoking, and
brightest professor I have ever had. If it was up to me it would be a tradition to pass along marked-up copies of articles that the best professors used for their research and teaching. Of course, some of the mark-up might be very personal thought, but I think that is part of the process. I have only gotten through a few hundred of the articles that he gave me, and I am amazed by his comments and underlines.
This is what I am doing for my birthday since I had a pretty reflective day yesterday, and deep reflection should happen more often than just on my birthday. When I consider the path that I am on, I cannot help but appreciate where I have been and where I am going and Dr. Griffin’s articles are a great reminder of where I want to be in the future.
(I just wish that I had a faster scanner at my house)
So, I took my site down last night to change it from the brown and orange theme and have designed a new one to start my new year on my 29th birthday.
It is going to be a great year! A time for rejuvenation and health, a time for an intellectual growth, and time to start getting some of my ideas out of my head and onto paper.
So here it goes…
